10 Restaurants in One Day! The Ultimate Binondo Food Guide! :)

Here it is! The Ultimate Binondo Food Guide! The Must try! Must Visit! of every foodies out there that wanted to go in Binondo! 10 restaurants in one day by yours truly and my great apprentice, boyfie! So before we start, read below and check out some tips that might help you with your food trip!

Binondo is surely a gem for foodies and adventure seekers out there. It is known for quality dishes with generous serving size and ofcourse, for affordable price! Just like what I've said in my previous posts, doing a Binondo Food Trip is easy! If you know the basic details, then it's a piece of cake for you. Every restaurant (on this list) is near to each other. It seems that you're in a subdivision and it's just a street apart from each other.
Here's the map of the below itinerary. You're food trip will start at Binondo Church.

How to get there?
From LRT  Recto Station, the usual route will be a jeepney ride, but since boyfie and I were doing our best to stick to our time schedule, we ride the tricycle going to Binondo Church. (50 pesos) Right side of the church is the way going to Ongpin. A little walk and you will see the Friendship Arch. And from there, the food trip will start.

tetadventurer tip:
Better if you don't bring your car. Why? Traffic is terrible in the area. You'll end up wasting your time if you do. Trust me.

Places to visit:
Estero Fast Food | Wai Ying Restaurant | Lord Stow | Dong Bei Dumplings | Quick Snack | New Po Heng Lumpia | Ying Ying Teahouse | Holland Bakery | Sincerity Cafe | Shanghai Fried Siopao

Simple and Straight to the point food joint that is really affordable! Don't expect something fancy with the place since it's located beside the "estero". If you're very particular in a place then don't bother including this one. Don't worry though since they assure that everything is sanitized properly. Don't belittle this place, it always gets packed easily!

One of my favorite restaurant on our itinerary. Wai Ying Restaurant don't just offer delicious foods, but just like what I've said, their dimsums are on steroids! It's the place that I can satisfy my Chinese food cravings instantly. I'm actually salivating just by remembering their dimsums! Ahhhh! Really good!  Yup, I admit this is my favorite from our itinerary. I don't even bother visiting their branch in Banawe (nearest to me) since all along the "famous egg tart" they were saying is just like the usual egg pie. But I was completely wrong. Their egg tart can be described in one word = HEAVENLY!!! Don't ever miss this on your itinerary! I give you my word, it's really THAT good! Warning: It's addictive!

The hardest to spot on the list. Because of its old faded signage. Popular for its set dumplings and Xiao Long Bao that is good for sharing, no wonder why a lot of food tripper includes this on their list.

The place where it offers the most number of foods for their customer. They offer set meals, rice toppings and ala carte. Popular for their lump and fresh Oyster Cake! Somewhat fail to our food trip. Others were saying that it's better than Eng Be Tin, but to be honest, I'm quite disappointed if we'll talk about their hopia. But what I am sure of is that, there is something in this place that I should have ordered instead!

One of the nicest lumpia I've tasted. They claim that it's the authentic Chinese lumpia! Served in a burrito style smothered with their sweet garlic-y sauce! Another must visit in Binondo! :)

So there you are! 10 Must visit places in Binondo! You might wonder why boyfie and I finished everything? Nahhh. Since we are just two, we decided not to consume all the foods we ordered per restaurant and decide to have them for take out. This Ultimate Binondo Food trip is perfect for groups, family, or barkada food hunt for as low as 500 pesos with 10 restaurants! The larger the group, the lesser the expense you have. Join them as you explore the wonderful things that Binondo has to offer. I am confident to say that you will enjoy the entire experience! If you have question, feel free to comment below! :)

Binondo Foodtrip | Last Stop: New Po Heng Fresh Lumpia

The 10th Stop and last stop on our Binondo Food Trip! :) I'm such a sucker for Lumpiang Sariwa. Even when I was still a kid, I can consume 3 fresh lumpia in one sitting. hahah! So if you're like me, then better to put this on your list! I'm so excited until my handy cam left me all alone, and rest peacefully! Darn! It's the last one, hindi pa nakisama. :(
(Below images are not mine. Photo credits to crowpod.wordpress.com) :)
It's not like the other food joints on our list since it's a "bit" far from the area. I've told you that Binondo Foodtrip is like walking in a subdivision that one food stop is just on the other street. But in New Po Heng, you have to go you Quintin Paredes Street (near Binondo Church) Upon locating their building named Uy Su Bin Building, you have to walk inside until you see this signage. Nothing to expect in the place, it's just a simple small karinderya-like place with a killer fresh lumpia!
It pretty much reminded me of Kuya's Lumpia that you can see in foodcourts at different leading malls. Though this one is the authentic one. As they said, it's the ultimate Chinese fresh lumpia! For just 50 pesos each, you will enjoy a fresh lumpia filled with veggies, lettuce, thai grass crisp, peanuts and garlic!
Served in a burrito style then smothered with their sweet garlicky sauce.
Your Binondo Foodtrip is not complete without visiting this one! :)

Budget Needed "Per Head": 50 pesos each

Binondo Foodtrip | Ninth Stop: Holand Hopia and Bakery

Second to the last stop in our itinerary! It was originally planned to be on the last part but since it's on our way already, we decided to visit this first instead. Wrong move since the pasalubongs were so heavy and we still have to visit another one. Anyway...
Holand Hopia and Bakery is one of the oldest bakery in the area. But at home, we usually buy pasalubong at Eng Be Tin (Though we also visited Eng Be Tin and Salazar to buy some Chinese goodies for my fambam, but I will not put those two in our itinerary anymore). Moving on, I've decided to choose this since we always get our goods from Eng Be Tin and I want to buy pasalubongs from somewhere else. I've also heard that they have better tasting Hopia than Eng Be Tin.
Wide variety of hopia and breads to choose from.
I was surprised to see the different unusual combinations they have.
Breads, sweets, Chinese Deli are also available in the store.
I had assorted kinds of Hopia upon my liking just to see it for myself. But I guess my heart belongs to Eng Be Tin.
Their hopia filling was a bit dry and crumbly compare to Eng Be Tin's sticky sweet filling.Oh well! :(

Name: Holand Hopia and Bakery
Address:  551 ET Yuchengco Street Corner Carvajal, Binondo Manila
Must Try: (Depends on your liking)
Budget Needed "Per Head": (Depends on the number of pasalubong you will buy)

Binondo Foortrip | Eight Stop: Shanghai "Fried" Siopao!

A bit different compared to the usual Siopao in the market. The Fried Siopao. Who would have thought that this thing ever existed? I've tried Toasted Siopao way back and all along they are just the same, but it's completely different!
Shanghai Fried Siopao is one of the many siopao stand you can see in Binondo. But one factor that Shanghai Fried Siopao differs from another is the location since it's just along the road of Binondo and easy to see.
They have a huge pan where they will fry their siopao. I thought they will fry the siopao ala
fried chicken style where they will submerge the siopao in oil..
But it's just basically frying the bottom part of the siopao. I was kinda disappointed at first for some reason.
I felt that it's just an ordinary siopao with crispy part.
But when I tasted the Fried Siopao, it proved me wrong! It was indeed delicious. Yes, let's get it straight that it may be like the usual siopao, but the filling inside the siopao was really meaty and full of flavors! Not to mention that every bite has this generous flavorful filling! For just 18 pesos each, this is really a good deal! It's way better than the commercialize siopaos out there! :o

Name: Shanghai Fried Siopao
Address:  Ongpin Street, Binondo Manila
Must Try: Fried Siopao!
Budget Needed "Per Head": 20 pesos each. ;)

Binondo Foodtrip | 7th Stop: Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant

If you're familiar with the place, one thing comes to your mind when you heard about Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant. Fried Chicken. I don't know what is the fuss about when I do my research and find out that (they say) it's a must for you to try their fried chicken! :o
Sincerity has a clearer signage compared to others that's why it's easier for you to spot this one.
A vibrant bright interiors with casual dining set up.
Sincerity Fried Chicken (Half - 150 pesos) Since we're full that time, we decided to have this for take out. But to be fair, I tasted their chicken from the moment they served it to us cause I want to judge the chicken at the nicest state as possible. How is it? I agree that it's good. But it's not something that I will look forward from time to time. It's not the usual fried chicken since it's on the pepper-y side. It actually reminded me of Serenitea's Chicken Chops! :D

Binondo Foodtrip | Sixth Stop: Ying Ying Restaurant

From our list that we must visit, Ying Ying Restaurant is the one I've been meaning to try that's why I placed this for our lunch time. It's quite far from the previous place we've visited, I guess around 10 minutes of walking. Just a tip, Don't ever dare bring your car. Traffic is terrible in the area. You'll end up wasting your time if you do.
Funny that our eyes are somewhere looking for Ying Ying and we didn't realized that it's just right beside us. haha.
The place was okay. They have second floor restroom. Though there's fly roaming around the area.
Basic Chinese condiments on the table. They have wide variety in their menu. I wished I can show you their menu but it's just too many. Price depends on the menu you order. But to give you an idea, viands that's good for sharing is around 250-300 pesos.
Pork and Shrimp Siomai - It's not as huge as Wai Ying's version but it's really meaty!
Chicken Feet - It was okay. I've tasted better though.
Lechon Kawali and Asado Meal - The lechon kawali was good! I wished we had Mang Tomas on hand. haha! Crispy yet juicy. Though the Asado was the down side. It tastes good but it's rubbery :(
Fried Oyster - Instead of the usual Oyster Omellete, I decided to try Fried Oyster since my Dad told me that the fried oysters are good. And he's right! It's actually good! Though my Dad told me that the oysters were small compared to what he had before. But neverless, I still enjoyed it together with their sauce. It complemented well the fried oysters. Make sure to try Oyster Cake to your Binondo Food Trip! :)

Name: Ying Ying Restaurant
Address:  233-235 Dasmarinas Street, corner Yuchengo St, Binondo Manila
Must Try: (Make sure to try their main dishes. I guess that's our mistake that we opted for their set meals. We can't help it coz we're so full :( )
Budget Needed "Per Head": 150 pesos for a group of 4.

Binondo Foortrip | Fifth Stop: Quick Snack

During this time of our Binondo food trip, we tried taking things a bit slower. You know the reason why, we're starting to feel full already. haha. But please note that since it's just me and Boyfie during that foodtrip, we had lots of take outs per restaurants to give way to other restaurant's food.
Next stop is the Quick Snack. It is located in a narrow pathway but it's easy to spot on. (I'm not sure why others had a hard time looking for this one). When you see the huge signage of Holland Bakery, turn right and you will see the Quick Snack.
The place can accommodate numbers of customer. They have restroom and the place was well ventilated. Boyfie noticed that they have 4-5 aircons. haha! The service was good. Friendly and always on smile. Our order arrived pretty fast too!
Indonesia Tauhu (75 pesos) - If you're a fan of tofu then this is surely a must! If not, then don't. ;) I didn't expect that the serving size would be like this one. But for the price of 75 pesos, it's actually a catch already. It's a huge giant chunk of tofu that is crispy on the outside, yet super soft inside. It has savory nutty sauce with hint of garlic and a bit of spiciness. The kinchay leaves on top gives that dish an earthy flavor too!
Chami (110 pesos) - Pretty ok for its price. Nothing spectacular since I want a saucy approach on this one. But nevertheless the sauce was flavorful and didn't skimp on ingredients (except the shrimp). hehe!
I wanted to order more but we have to give way and save some space to our tummy. haha.

Name: Quick Snack
Address:  637-639 ET Carvajal Street, Binondo Manila
Must Try:  Indonesia Tauhu
Budget Needed "Per Head": 80 pesos for a group of 4. (around 4 dishes)

Binondo Foodtrip | Fourth Stop: Dong Bei Dumpling!

Fourth Stop! Dong Bei Dumpling! There's a lot of places where you can eat dumplings in Binondo,
but for some reason, Dong Bei is really one of the most popular.
But make sure to keep an eye on this one. It's a bit hard to spot on since their signage is old and
almost faded already just like what you see above.
The smallest place on our list. You can see the crew creating the dumplings on the other table.
 Then filling every dough.
It's so small that it has 5 tables that can accommodate around 16 person at a time.
The place is simple and no fancy menu, just some tarpaulin
And hand written menu on the wall. The service was so-so but our order came fast.
Xiao Long Bao and Pork with Kutchay Dumplings (Since the pork dumplings were not available)
Pork Dumplings with Kutchay for the amount of 120 pesos, you can have 14 pieces of dumplings. Sulit! Taste wise, it can be improved. I'm not sure if it's just me or the dumplings was a bit bland. But make sure to use their sauce to enhance the flavor. :)
Xiao Long Bao (90 pesos / 6 pcs) - Basically a dumpling filled with soup inside. I loved that the texture of the Xiao Long Bao was firm and a bit chewy. It's much tastier than the latter which I appreciate a lot. Though I wished they put more soup inside. :)
Overall, Dong Bei Dumpling is a good catch for those who are looking for dumpling fix craving for affordable price yet generous in serving!

Name: Dong Bei Dumpling
Address:  642 ET Yuchengco St. Cor V. Tytana St, Binondo Manila
Must Try: Xio Long Bao and Dumplings
Budget Needed "Per Head": 100 pesos for a group of 4.

Binondo Foodtrip | Third Stop: Lord Stow Bakery! :)

From all the 10 places we visited I'm sure that this is my ultimate favorite.
Lord Stow's Bakery is widely popular with its egg tarts all throughout Asia
Although it's not new to me that there's quite a number of branches here in the Philippines, I don't even bother visiting their branch in Banawe (nearest to my location) since I'm not even a fan of egg tarts! I pretty much visualized this as the local egg pie which I'm not a fan.
But since it's a Binondo Foodtrip, it's a must to visit Lord Stow. But to be honest I was really
curious with the taste since I've heard from my friends that it's really THAT good!
Lord stow is a bakery located few steps from the friendship arch in Binondo. The place is well ventilated and clean.
I thought they just offer egg tarts but they have quite a number of foods to offer too.
Just to be sure, Boyfie and I bought the smallest box incase we don't like it. haha!
That toasted effect on top gives the egg tart a nice color!
I also bought a marshmallow candy for my niece and nephew.
How is it? It's a LOVE AT FIRST BITE! Ahhhhh! One of the greatest creations I ever tasted! It's not even close to egg pie at all! I can't stop myself devouring on these wonderful tarts! The crust of the tart was soft yet super flaky. While the custard has the perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness that lingers in my mouth with every bite!
It's so good that we even buy another 2 boxes to enjoy at home. And just like me, they inhaled everything in just a blink of an eye! haha! Ohhhhh. I will definitely come back for more!

Name: Lord Stow Bakery
Address:  707 Ongpin Street, Binondo Manila
Must Try: EGG TARTS! EGG TARTS! EGG TARTS!
Budget Needed "Per Head": 165 pesos for a box of 4
